Collection: Tokuda Yasokichi IV
Tokuda Yasokichi IV is a distinguished Kutani Ware artist from Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture. Born in 1961 as the eldest daughter of Tokuda Yasokichi III, a Living National Treasure recognized for Saiyu Jiki (colored-glaze porcelain), she inherited the distinctive glazing techniques and artistic tradition of the Tokuda family. In 2010, she succeeded to the name Tokuda Yasokichi IV. 諸江屋
Her work is especially known for Saiyu, a technique in which color and gradation created through glazes become the central form of decoration. Rather than relying primarily on pictorial motifs such as flowers, birds, or landscapes, her pieces use carefully controlled transitions of color to create depth, movement, and a luminous appearance.
