Collection: SHIGARAKI WARE

Shigaraki Ware (Shigaraki-yaki) is a traditional Japanese pottery style originating in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture. With a history dating back to the Kamakura period, it is recognized as one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.

Known for its natural clay textures, warm earthy colors, and rustic beauty, Shigaraki pottery reflects the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. Each piece has a distinctive character shaped by clay and fire.

The famous Shigaraki Tanuki statues are especially popular in Japan as symbols of good luck, prosperity, and hospitality. These traditional Japanese raccoon dog figurines are commonly displayed at the entrances of homes, shops, and restaurants.
