Buzan Fukushima is an artist who has revived traditional techniques passed down through generations. His work is distinguished by compositions that combine intricate patterns with classical motifs from the Tang Dynasty, such as the phoenix and Tang children. One of his most remarkable achievements is his ability to create a sense of depth and dimensionality, which is traditionally considered difficult to achieve using only red.

In recent years, he has also focused on nurturing the next generation of artists, contributing to the emergence of many Akae-sai (red painting) fine-line painters.
