For four centuries, Arita and its surrounding areas have been synonymous with porcelain excellence. Recognized as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain, the region has been at the forefront of ceramic production since 1616. Founded in 1865, Kouraku Kiln is a living symbol of innovation and tradition. Every piece from Kouraku Kiln is handcrafted.
Its main production focuses on everyday tableware that combines beauty, culture, and functionality. At the height of Arita porcelain’s golden age, Kouraku Kiln employed approximately 250 craftspeople.
